For your stay, Western Safari Ranch offers authentic log cabins with mountain-man log furniture plus all the modern convinces. After a full day's fun on the ranch you can fall asleep in the country peace and quite or stay up to watch the stars come out and listen to the coyote's serenade. Meals at the ranch are hearty western style feasts. The mountain raised beef and buffalo are prepared the cowboy way,grilled over an outdoor fire or slowly stewed in a Dutch oven. This working cattle ranch with a reputation for making people feel at home in an "Old West" atmosphere, began as an old railroad section station back in the 1880's. The old station of Boquillas lays in ruins near the ranch headquarters. he property was acquired through the Homestead Program in 1927 and the deed is signed by Persident Calvin Coolidge. The Ranch is located along the San Pedro River, ringed by the Huachuca, Dragoon and Whetstone mountains.The climate is always mild with plenty of sunshine. Sunnrises and sunsets are absolutley awesome.

At the Ranch today the newly constructed 1880's town of Tumbleweed offers a wide variety of activities and accommodations. On Friday and Saturday nights the ranch is open to the public offering a Dinner Theater wagon rides, and a musical Western Stage Show. If your timing is right you may get the opptunity to attend one of the two professional Rodeos held each year at the ranch. If possible be sure not to miss the rip-roaring Helldorado Days and ride into Tombstone on the same trails that Wyatt Earp and Doc Hoilday traveled.

Each day offers something new. Daily trailrides, with the Tombstone Riders, visit a wealth of historical sites from the Indian and Spanish era. Explore the Presido Santa Cruz De Terrenate, established in 1775 by the Royal Spanish Army, on the steep cliffs overlooking the San Pedro River,later abandoned due to frequent Apache raids. Visit the ghost town of Fairbanks and ruins of the old Contention Stamp Mill, which once processed silver bullion.

Keep an eye on the wild life, deer, javelina (wild pigs), mountain lion and bobcat. In the San Pedro Riparian Area, you'll find over 100 species of indious breeding birds and another 250 species of migrant birds. An Incredible Time For The Whole Family !!

For a limited number of experienced riders we now offer a very special treat.
Complete package for one price - (May through October) One Week Stay - $1250

Included: Accommodation: Indian style tipis or log cabins - both are camping facilities. Both have beds and mattresses (tipis 2 -3 persons
and cabins 4 - 6 persons).
All Meals: Home cooked, mostly buffet style dishes, featuring Cowboy, Indian and German cuisine!
Horses: Western ridden trail horses, mostly quarters and paints.
Day Rides: Thursday, Friday and Tuesday, 4 - 7 hours, guided.
Over Night Ride: Sunday and Monday or in spring and fall a real 2-day Cattle Drive.
Non Riding Days: Wednesday is arrival /departure day. Saturdays for sight seeing.
Evenings: Tales around the campfire and wildlife tours through the
parks or the Mountain Music Show in Custer.
Groups: Limited number of riders per week.
Minimum Age: is 12.
Maximum weight: 250 lb.

Dates may vary slightly from year to year and can be moved a day or 2 on short notice because of weather reasons.
Included in a five day stay - $1395

We head out in the morning with you and the horses to join the cowboys and cattle. Trailing 70 pair (140 cows and calves) through Custer State Park to/from their summer range on the Black Hills National Forest near Pringle. Buffalo, antelope, deer and other wild life are plentiful and are usually encountered on the trail. We leave the cows at the Park's Buffalo Corrals for the night. Night shelter for all drovers is found in Lakota style tipis at the Plenty Star Ranch. Western ranch cuisine and legend and lore around the campfire carry through the evening. 6-10 hours riding time per day.
